I’m the founder of HR Support for Business and a freelance senior HR consultant, with over 18 years experience in supporting small businesses. I ensure their legal and ISO auditable compliance, with the main aim of taking the headache out of managing the total employee lifecycle – including implementing change and resolving workforce issues and problems. I help businesses align the competence and performance of their people to meet the outcomes their business must achieve.
As I’m fully CIPD qualified and health and safety trained, as well as helping improve the performance of a workforce, I also provide guidance on delivering a safer working environment too.
As a small business owner and trained lean management practitioner, I appreciate the value in keeping the process simple, making sure it does not get in the way of business. I’m able to offer a range of business support and advice solutions to fit the needs of each individual small business, often serving as an extended part of the team.
HR Support for Business, was set up to offer a local and virtual HR support solution to meet the needs of smaller firms, when a permanent resource just can’t be justified. My business can step in on an ad hoc basis to help resolve a problem, hold a disciplinary, grievance or hearing, assist with a specific change or an HR project. It also provides contracts, employment and health and safety handbooks and documentation.
I also offer a retainer service to act as part of the management team, ensuring continuous legal compliance with changing law. This is an area most small businesses should be tuned into, but it can be hard to keep up with the ever-evolving law. So, I also provide regular updates through the HR Newsroom – a free-to-access site which helps small businesses keep up to date with what they need to know regarding employment law.
