5 Ways to Generate Sale Leads Online

Business Advice | 4 November 2022 | 2 years ago

As a business, you need to know how to generate leads online. There are five key ways to generate sales leads via digital channels, all of which we have listed below.

Why You Should Generate Sales Leads Online

It’s beneficial to garner leads online, rather than relying on other sources, as the digital world is where a large percentage of people head to find businesses. For a lot of people, the web is the ‘go to’ place to find products and services, and so there is a large audience for you to tap into.

SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)

SEO is the process of helping your website to rank highly in search engine results for specific keywords. When someone searches for a product or service, the aim is to have your business ranking at the top. 68% of online experiences begin with a search engine, so it’s undeniably a key way to generate leads online. The more people that end up on your website, the most chances you have of turning a lead into a sale.

PPC (Pay Per Click)

PPC is one of the more cost effective and budget friendly ways to generate sales leads online, making it a good choice for SMEs and those with a limited budget. With PPC, you only pay a fee once the ad has been clicked. If no one clicks on the advert, you don’t pay. This means that it has a good ROI, as you only pay for the clicks that are likely to turn into leads. The most common form of PPC is search engine advertising, with Google and Bing being two of the most popular platforms.

Social Media

With so many people using social media on a daily basis, it’s a key way for businesses to connect with people and increase the chances of generating leads online. You can post links to your website, give advice, upload images, share behind the scenes photos, create ‘how to’ guides and communicate with loyal followers. It’s a great way to market a business, whilst encouraging people to head over to your website.

set up social media

There are so many different ways to use social media and multiple platforms to choose from. It’s likely that some social media platforms will be better suited to your business than others, so take the time to choose which are likely to be the most effective with your audience. For example, TikTok is a platform that’s largely used by younger people, which makes it a great choice for any business with a young target audience.

Almost half of TikTok users are aged between 10 and 29. However, Facebook is used by a variety of demographics and generations, making it ideal if you are targeting a broad audience. Facebook currently has close to 2.9 billion users worldwide. With such varied users, it’s important to focus your attention on the platforms that are best suited to what you are offering as a brand.

Email Marketing

Email marketing involves sending carefully curated emails to a specific group of people, in the hope of turning some of them into sales leads. It’s an effective way of broadcasting a message – such as information about an upcoming sale, or news of new products that have been added to your website – and then tracking how many people click to find out more.

There are a handful of different platforms that can be used for email marketing, including MailChimp and HubSpot. All of these platforms provide you with everything you need to create an effective email marketing campaign.

Digital PR

Digital PR is a good way to raise brand awareness and boost your online presence. It’s all about working with influencers and creators, creating press releases and networking with others in the industry to spread the word about your business. It can also help improve the other channels, as people are more likely to take notice of you online if they are aware of the brand.

Content Marketing

Content marketing refers to the creation of any content that is shared online. This could include blogs and social media posts, videos and memes. It also extends to include ebooks, infographics, podcasts and even customer reviews. The aim of content marketing is to provide information on a specific topic or subject, whilst showcasing your authority in the industry.

Once you have created content for marketing purposes, you can then use it on other channels. You could share blog posts on Facebook or memes on Twitter, or you could use an infographic as part of an email marketing campaign. It’s a great way of capturing peoples’ attention and engaging an audience, with the hope of then turning them into sales leads.
